Waiting on Wednesday (15), a Dilemma, and a Poll

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, where we showcase the books that we just can't wait for.

This week:
 Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
Release Date: May 4th
Synopsis from Goodreads:
When her boyfriend dies a most untimely death, Aura--who can see ghosts--is forced to reconsider her relationship with the living and dead in SHADE.

Book Trailer here. I would post it, but blogger isn't letting me...

Doesn't this book just sound fanstastic? I love the whole idea of it. The trailer is great too, it's actually what made me really want to read it!

Dilemma:
First, as you may or may not know, I've started reading The Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce. I'm about halfway into the second one, and I'm really into them. I checked my library website to see if the third one was in, only to find that THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE IT! They  have 1,2, and 4. How unfair is that? I would really like to read the third one, but I don't want to buy it without buying the whole series, and I don't want to buy the whole series when there are so many other books that I want. It kind of sucks. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Okay, and now a poll. If you could have any of these books which would you choose? I have some money left on a giftcard and I'm not sure what to spend it on.

Book of Love (Knight Angels #1)
Nightshade
Paranormalcy
Clockwork Angel

I really appreciate your opinion!

  1. Personally I want all the books you've listed, but I would maybe buy Paranormalcy, Book of Love or Clockwork Angel first. Lol, I did at least narrow it down to three. But it's up to you :D

  2. I would pick Clockwork Angel but then I am partial to Cassandra Clare. I thought she did a great job with The Mortal Instruments so if I were buying a book, I'd get that one because I'd know that it is likely going to be a great book. I've had too many bad experiences with purchasing a book by an author I haven't read before and then having the book turn out to be a dud.

As far as the book your library doesn't have, ask a librarian if they can order it for you on interlibrary loan. Also if you mention that they don't have a book that is part of a series, they may go ahead and purchase a copy for the library, especially if it is a popular author. I always appreciated it when I was made aware of series books that we didn't have. Sometimes those things slip us by when ordering books.

  4. Ohmygosh, what a hard question!
I am super psyched for the last three of the four titles mentioned on your list. I've never heard of the first one, but seeing it beside such awesome (I assume they are awesome) books must mean I should pick it up when I can. :)
I've heard fantastic things for NIGHTSHADE and PARANORMALCY, and I'm willing got bet CLOCKWORK ANGEL is gonna be sick. A good kind of sick. Re-reading what I just typed, I realize I was no help at all. Sorry, it's just this is a decision that requires a lot of thinking!

    Love, Hannah

  5. I like the look of that cover.

I am sorry the library doesn't have the third book. That is really weird, huh?

  6. I liked the description of Shade and added it to my TBR list.

All those titles sound intriguing, but I pick Paranormalcy.
