Manifest was an interesting book. Not completely original, but it definitely put a new spin on things. Krystal is a medium, something that she's just learned about herself. And it freaks her out. A ghost (who she may or may not have a crush on) is asking her to help figure out who killed him, but she wants none of it. Things only get weirder when classmates Shasha and Jake reveal that they have strange powers too.

The mystery in this book was definitely not what I was expecting. It was creepy and original. Also original was the origin of the powers. It's something that I've never read before, which was interesting. Most of this book focuses on Krystals life and her problems including and not including her status as a medium. Her life was interesting, but I would have liked the mystery to be a bigger part of the book.

I really couldn't connect to Krystal very well. I thought that she was kind of whiny and a little bit selfish. She refused to see what was in front of her, and made other people feel bad. I guess that it's realistic, I just got kind of frustrated. I liked Sasha and Jake though. Jake was really down to earth, and Sasha was a drama queen but not in a bad way. I look forward to reading more about them.

Basically, I enjoyed this book, I just wish that there had been more mystery and that I could have connected to Krystal more.

Cover/Title Comments: They both fit really well. I don't like the title font on the cover though. I think that it looks a little cheesy.
